Free Unreal Engine 5.6 C++ Sample Game: ActionRoguelike (Tom Looman)
Original title: ActionRoguelike (Project Orion)
Overview
ActionRoguelike (Project Orion) is Tom Looman's co-op action roguelike sample game for Unreal Engine 5.6, the companion project to his Unreal C++ course, written mainly in C++. It covers third-person movement with Enhanced Input, a custom Action and Attribute system similar to GAS, dash, blackhole and projectile abilities, AI, a save game system, object pooling and data-oriented projectiles, using engine plugins such as SignificanceManager, OnlineSubsystemSteam and StateTree.
The roughly 1.2 GB GitHub repository includes the .uproject plus separate course branches; no license is listed, though the README permits learning and use, and Visual Studio is needed to compile. A benchmark C++ gameplay codebase for intermediate developers.
