Overview

assemblymates.zip is the official sample set for the Assembly Mates lesson of the SOLIDWORKS Online Tutorials, published by Dassault Systèmes SOLIDWORKS in the 2026 Web Help. It contains nine part files (bracket, clamp, head, knee, pillar, pin, saddle, scale and table) that you insert and constrain to build a bench-vise style assembly while learning standard and advanced mates.

The zip is about 1.7 MB of .sldprt files saved in 2022 and downloads free from the tutorial's Sample Files page, which offers a zip per tutorial; no account is required, though the recent format may not open in older SOLIDWORKS releases. The canonical first assembly exercise for new users.
