Free Houdini HIP: Vellum Grain Particle Animation, Octane (Entagma)
Original title: Houdini Tutorial: Abstract Particle Animation Using Vellum & Octane Render
Overview
Entagma provides this free Houdini project file from a tutorial on abstract particle animation inspired by Maxim Zhestkov. A Vellum grain simulation is swirled with POP Wind, the stress values of glue constraints are transferred to particle color (with a VEX alternative shown), and the result is rendered in Octane with materials, HDRI lighting, motion blur and comping inside the IPR.
The zip is a free direct download from entagma.com, and the Octane for Houdini plugin is required for the render side. A well-rounded example of stylized grain FX with a GPU renderer.
